Tom, Marty, Jessie & Dion
These gentlemen and our lovely Kate make up the elusive kitchen. They are so elusive in fact that they were reluctant to give away any details that may ruin their tough??? exteriors. However, from careful observation and eaves dropping this is what we can tell you:
Tom – a young buck, and full of enthusiasm – “I’d be keen for that!” is usually the first response that jumps out of his mouth. Tom has one major passion in the world of food –meat. Hunting or fishing for it aside, he likes to cure it, hang it, smoke it, cook it and, most importantly, eat it. Tom makes his work-fellows feel as important as if they were his family, and cooks every ingredient as if it were intended for a king.
Marty – man of few words, but the few he spares us always have a side-splitting impact. Like Josh, after a few years at Ambeli Marty decided it was time to stretch his legs and take a sniff of a different air. However, he only made it as far as Lyall Bay before Josh’s rallying call came resounding and Marty signed up for an apprenticeship at Ambeli. Each day Marty brings to work a light heart and a steady hand, completing cooking preparations with skill and ease.
Jesse – if he weren’t working day and night, mothers would weep and fathers would curse. Our Jesse is a charming one, and a looker – lock away your daughters. Jesse has stamped our larder with his willingness and capability, bringing a sense of ease and a love of “indie” music in his stride. With an impressive cookery-competition portfolio Jesse has come to Ambeli to affirm his growing mastery of cuisine, and to work in a kitchen where ideas get heard and creativity flourishes.
Dion – Sous Chef – Father, musician, Sous Chef. Another gently spoken member of the kitchen team, Dion’s hale-stallion wealth of experience helps to round out the vigour of the colts. The Sous-Chef role can sometimes be the least glamorous; but someone has to double check the facts in a space where the magic of ideas and ingredients is in a constant whirl-wind.
